1863 USMRR Engine Terminal

I built a tool shed structure for Falmouth. This structure is based on a building at City Point, VA as I don't have any photos of the actual facility at Falmouth.

Initially I had planned to put it between the storage track and mainline curve. The idea was that the building would hide some of the sharp curve. The problem was that the building just barely fit in that spot. Furthermore, that spot is where an escape track for the turntable lead would reside. The escape track would be a short section of track that would prevent engines that overshoot the turntable from going in the pit.

So I decided to move the building to the location shown in the photo. I had to shorten one of the storage tracks. Instead of engines, this track will be used to store spare wheel sets and trucks. General Haupt is standing at the site of the new escape track. I still plan a few more smaller sheds and lots of details for this area, but it is coming along.

Here is the wood rick and water tank.

As usual, there is more detail at my blog.

Man that is stunning! Keep up the work Bernie.

For some reason every time I see photos I think that Im gonna lose a handcart and that I will need to set up a toll booth to stall some bandits.
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Is this police slang?

My dad was a cop, but he never did speed traps.

Bernie K's layout truly is stunning.  And, as amazing as his pixes are, it is even more amazing in person.  He keeps his blog up to date, so if you haven't checked it out in a while, you should definitely do it.

And, if you're ever up in his neck of the woods, you should contact him to see about a visit.
