Know I got something somewhere but can't find um.  Here's the rear of an E unit which might help somewhat.  I'll keep looking

AFAIK, the light often seen on the back is just for backing up through yards and such.

What's the deal with that MMID shot?  Running an F long-hood forward?  An F in DPU service?  And street running no less.   :D

Good old Farquhar Street in Union Bridge.  That line served the Lehigh Cement plant up until a year or so ago.  When improvements made this the Largest Cement Plant in the Western Hemisphere, it was decided that a more direct route and a larger yard was going to be better for the neighborhood.  The final street running drew quite a crowd last winter.

Interesting that some Fs have a rear roof "overhang" while others are flush.

Take a look at the lift rings above the doors Mark. I think they're the reason.

Yes, (ex-)PRR units had lift rings fore and aft.

I think that the overhang is among the "phases" of F-units.  I just can't remember if the overhang was added or removed.  I'm guessing that late F-units are flush.  But, I'm not sure without doing some online research.
