Since we don't want the red to fade to a pink color as it would if we applied a global fade coat (I'm condensing here), mask it off:
and airbrush a coat of Polly Scale Zinc Oxide Primer:

When this dries, mask off the red and apply a Polly Scale Aged White fade coat to the blue. There are a few photos of this car (or at least this scheme) online, and some show that the blue faded into a very blotchy, circular appearance. I chose a more subtle approach.
Note how significantly I had to fade the paint to get to the point where I wanted it.
Now, scroll up and compare these colors to the original! ;D
