Atlas posted some pre-production shots over on their forum.

Looks like a pretty nice modern car.

I wonder how likely we are to see them in either O or N.

With a roadname like this, they should be a big seller:  http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4097/4904772647_08dde89cb7_b.jpg

hehe! ;D

I'm thinking unlikely for N, as there is little opportunity in the design for weight.

The weight could be in the containers.  Just have to run them full or partial full all the time.

Are they all open-top containers, or are some of them fully enclosed?

From what i've seen, it's rare for the cars to be moved without containers. The empty containers need to come back from the unloading/transloading facility somehow, so the cars usually carry the containers both directions, yes?

Everyone I've seen in MD have containers each way.  They are closed top containers.  Mostly green ones around here but I do see the orange one too.  Waste Management in Jessup uses these covered hoppers to move trash.

Here's the ones I see the most.

I don't think that USWX car is covered, and it's probably a solid-bottom gondola rather than a hopper.
