N&W power in 1967

Lifelike did a foob N&W C-424, which with a little blurred vision can stand in for a C-425.

GP18 - Lifeless, available at MBK in both "Hamburglar" Scheme Black

Note that Wally botched the lettering on these (they did the "script herald", Hamburger blue, and "NW" black)

The botchiness is on the herald size on the script (black) and ham (blue) schemes. The "NW" rendition is good but irrelevant for 1967 of course.

It requires suspension of disbelief.

N&W actually had (ordered by WAB) C424s, kinda dumb that LL lettered them for C425. But the LL C424 is also conspicuously the wrong phase for the N&W C424.

Anyway, I meant high nose C425, which I am using a LL C424 to make (with a little help from the Atlas C628 parts bin).

They got a slew of 35's from the Wab during the merger which is why you see some stuff with low hoods. Speaking of the Wab, I really wish IMRC pressed on with the NW ex Wab F-7's....

i guess that what it comes down to - i have seen N&W power in a picture from 1969.  i saw a picture in 66 of train masters in Bowest.

As I noted elsewhere, I believe there were scheduled NW trains over the WM in the mid 70's.  Not sure if this was pooling or raw trackage rights, but they were there.

since i'm blurring reality a tad, i can just throw some pooled power on the line in 67 and be done with it.  were they running 6 axle power on the AJ's

There's tons of pictures on line and in the books.  Do your homework.

The short answer is yes.  I've seen shots of Geeps, SD's, Alcos... not so many GE's, but I'm sure they're represented if you look hard enough.  The Jahn and Johnson WM Diesels book covers this era pretty well in the road photos section.
