Woot, new Amfleets! Hopefully they roll better than the Bman units as my 5 car trains make my F40PH's seem like they are dragging stones.  I hope they to eventually do the Viewliner sleepers and the one Viewliner diner.
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

What is really amazing is that these are East coast cars only. I think this is the second East coast only set they have done. The Broadway being the first.

Actually Daniel,

These cars were used in the West for more than 20 years. Amfleets came to California in 1976-77. From there some were sent to the PNW to be use on the original Pioneer, and the rest stayed in SoCal and were assigned to the San Diegans trains.

Yes,the cars with the dome on top are the ex SPV's Budd Companys updated answer to their earlier RDC's . The SPV's were mechanically trouble prone and later de motored and used as trailers. The roof top hump(dome) was for engine exaust like on the earlier RDC cars. Amquack (Trak) in California LA to San Diego service used some ex Metroliner Cab cars converted to non powered cab cars. Rode in one once when train was in push mode, the horn was really loud inside the passenger compartment. Nate Goodman (Nato). Salt Lake,Utah.

We rode these between Duluth and St Paul on the 'North Star" which then continued onto Chicago (but that may have just been the sleeper, I don't know).

I hope they do the close coupling.  That and a cab car would make them winners in my book.
