Just kidding.  I finished putting the decoder into Bob's Key Imports M1a.

Coal load is a modified Atlas hopper load. I think I'm going to glue some coal dust to it to make it look better.

There's plenty of room for a sound board in the tender.  One would have to run at least one wire into the locomotive for power pick ups for the sound, though.  The DZ-125 I put in fits snuggly over the motor in that big arse Belpaire firebox.  As it is, the tender still only picks up on one side, which gives it a hiccup on dead frogs, but otherwise, it runs as smoothly as any steamer I'm familiar with.

Say, Bob... you want me to splash a little weather on her?  Or perhaps I should send it to Tom so he can make it look better than I ever could!

Light weathering is fine.  I can't afford Tom's work.

That was a great find at Peach Creek Shops.  The price was downright great.  They had another one with a different number and was tempted to get it also.  I know someone who posts here asked me about it and I think they picked it up.  Was just good timing to find one so close.  EBay prices on these is ridiculous.

Neo Lube it is!  I'll make sure there's some in the next Chuck Pack...

I added the coal dust to the load, a vast improvement.  When it's dry in the morning, I'll post an updated picture.

It looks great, but it doesn't pull very much.  It has a traction tire, but there's not much weight over the drivers.  There's a nice lead weight in the front, which keeps the nose on the ground.  I might be able to pack a little more in there and see what it does.

In the meantime, I've been using my Bachmann Connie as a helper! ;D

Did I mention that I love DCC?

I have a Key M1a also. For all intents and purposes, I traded an old Datsun for it!
Made a tender load from a Fine N Scale resin hopper load.
Running qualities are superb.
