Yes, I like how you got the subtle streaks to look like dirty rain water (as opposed to brush streaks).

Start off with my scratchbuilt Nn3 flatcar (the subject being the weathering on the donkey).



I am a member of the Rich Yourstone school of subtle weathering, thus:



I didn't take the photo, nor did I build the layout, but the train is mine.

For a while I had entertained the possibility of modelling a freelance steel mill.  Therefore, I needed hoppers for coke:





Finally, one of my first weathering jobs, from when I was in middle school.  I replaced the roofwalk with an etched one I got from somewhere.  I don't think I could find this car today:

Yeah, that's always a challenge.  The car sides themselves on the prototype were cleaned at some point, but still had grime streaked from rain.  The roof shows how dirty these head-end cars can get.  And then the prototype looked like it had the sides washed with a scrub broom, hence the irregular "brush" marks along the edge of the roof as they didn't take the time to scrub the roof, only standning on the ground.  But again, there's a fine line between modeled brush strokes and brush strokes that look like they were made with a paint brush.  Sometimes you get lucky on the look, and that's why I like this car.
