No worries Jeff.  Tangent and BLMA Models have a 'strategic partnership' with new models.  This includes, among other things, sharing resources...hence the models.  Simple as that.

I would like to see how that Rock car aged.

Why does that sound as if it's a harbinger of things to come?  ;)

Aged photos will have to be unearthed though, as the proto photo on both the BLMA and Tagent sites show a relatively fresh car.

If a photo doesn't turn up, I'll base it off of other hopper photos that I've seen.

The three bay aged version

Two bays shouldn't be much different.

LOVE the plain-jane BN version!  Definitely in for one or two of those and maybe one of the logo'ed versions.  As nice as these cars are, they were entering their last days in my era so I can't overload on them, as much as I'd like to.  Intermodal...different story.  Well, except the brown ones.  LOL   ;-)

There's actually a discussion on one of the Yahoo groups about these cars and why BN would paint a "non-cement" hopper gray versus green.  In the case of the 4000's they did both, but generally it was stated that gray signified "non-food" items, not necessarily cement only.  The two primary alternative loads mentioned were sand and bentonite that these cars hauled for BN.
NOTE: I'm no longer active on this forum.   If you need to contact me, use the e-mail address (or visit the website link) attached to this username.  Thanks.

So what are the build dates of the 89js?  From previous posts,  I think we can determine it was between Jan '67 and Oct '67.  Is that right?
