ESM third release of G26 canceled

Folks,

Sadly, the third release of the G26 mill gondola has been canceled due to manufacturing issues.  Those schemes and others may get revisited in the future, perhaps if demand develops for a reissue of the Pennsylvania CK scheme.  But from this point forward, ESM's focus will be on the XIH boxcar, and on the X58 boxcar after that.

Schemes canceled:

220001-220002, Pennsylvania plain keystone
220601-220603, Norfolk & Western G3, G3a
220701-220702, Pennsylvania maintenance of way
220801-220802, Penn Central maintenance of way
220901-220902, Conrail maintenance of way

$hit.  I bought a CR MoW cabin car to ride behind my CR MoW gon.  Oh well.  If it means the X58s come sooner it was a worthy sacrifice.

I'm assuming this is the same CR MoW run w/ Ian that we put deposits down on?

Disappointed, but I understand.  FWIW, if you ever do re-run the G26, please have a look at assembly.  I own 3 now, and 2 have had a side and end casting separate from the floor during weathering.  It's an easy fix, but it's an issue.

Sadly this includes the much ballyhooed Laurel Valley Gondola project.  If you ordered, I'll be in touch with you in the coming days to discuss the options.

Thanks.

What happened?
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Bryan - sorry to hear about it - was looking at the CR MOW cars...

Question - did you ever find a G26 in the "yellow" end treatment, as this would be an easy thing to do on a couple of the CR gons?

Sorry to hear.  If you ever get around to doing a foobie X58 in BN I'm all over it.   The rest of your stuff so far just hasn't been something I could even fudge into working into my roster.

I really hope you can offer the N&W ones again later.

Cheers,

That is a real pity  :(
I had some preordered in PRR and N&W.  Good that I have all the other PRR versions.
I hope for a rerun some time in the future.

I'll mention that to the contractor should the stars align to bring additional G26 gons to market.

What happened?

Without getting into great detail, circumstances changed that prevented the production run from proceeding.  If the model returns, I'm going to look into including the actual G26A and G26C tooling variations, and possibly some of the welded-side and fixed-end classes as well to provide some additional options.

... Question - did you ever find a G26 in the "yellow" end treatment, as this would be an easy thing to do on a couple of the CR gons?

The G26 didn't receive the yellow ends, but some of the younger cousins did.  I don't remember which classes off hand.

Sorry to hear.  If you ever get around to doing a foobie X58 in BN I'm all over it.   The rest of your stuff so far just hasn't been something I could even fudge into working into my roster.

Various XML14 and XML16 schemes will be "foobed" on the X58, but they won't be in the initial releases.  Five as-built PRR and two as-built LV will open the series off.  But that's a ways off; there are a number of XIH releases coming before then.

I really hope you can offer the N&W ones again later.

I hope so.  And hopefully, it will be on a model with G26A sides.

As do I.

Just a thought.

That's under consideration as an option.  But not with the flashy DKS artwork...  just a good old go to hell RBL...

A substencil for Latrobe Service would be cool, though.

But we're also in discussion with Bluford about shifting the project into something that might encourage more volume...  I'm also trying to settle on a sound and fair policy for dealing with my 28 loyal customers...

In retrospect, the G-26 was a bit of a risky venture, due to the relatively high unit cost and the complexity of the car.  In the end, the contractor isn't asking for anything out of line, it would just be nice if they could be a little flexible for us.

I was thinking the same thing sans "DKS" treatment. You could also the stencil "When empty return to Laurel Valley Railway, Latrobe, PA".

Also, ya know given the company...a "1700" kit would be interesting. And make it really easy for us "WM" brethren....
