I have a few connies to convert the couplers on and was wondering what
anyone has done for the front coupler. I know the tender gets the 2004.
Is there anyway to put a Z coupler on?

Thanks, Jon

I have one in surgery at this very moment for that exact transplant.  But I'm also going to substantially rebuild the pilot, so your results may vary...  I'm guessing you can take a sharp #11 blade and carefully whittle away the cast on box until the 905 slips in....

Lately I've been sticking Z scale couplers on the front of my bachmann 2-8-0's.  You don't have to cut as much of the pilot away and it looks better as well.  I have not had a reliability issue with these.  I don't have the MT number in front of me, but it's the standard body mount Z scale coupler.

The 905 is the assembled version, the 903 is the un-assembled.
