I am down for one, now when are they going to do the SD70ACE demos?
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

I did I also notice on the katao Gevo page they updated all of the release dates to Sept 2010.

So I guess everything is pushed back, as the had orginally listed April / May on the UP and CP.

Mark, you can't post that without a video reference.

I went looking for the video and didn't realize they were still performing. This is live from 2009.

And what Mark Mothersburg of Devo does now....

It's a kids show on Nick that my son used to watch, Yo Gabba Gabba.

Now back to trains.....

Sorry Tony, it just ain't the same. I saw them almost 30 years ago and it's just not the same.

Besides, never heard of a locomotive called a D-E-V-O!  ;D

Being a GE fan, this is tempting.  Then I'd have to paint and detail a demonstrator for every other GE loco . . . . cr$% there's something else to put on my MR bucket list!

Is the paint scheme depicted in the KATO model with the BIG GE logo on the front the original paint scheme?
I have also seen pictures of the 2005 (1:1 scale) with a smaller GE logo on the front.
And when did the logo change?

BIG GE logo -> http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=77325

Small GE logo -> http://www.getransportation.com/na/en/evolution.html
(for a better picture download the Evolution Brochure.pdf)

I don't think the 2005 is even around anymore as it was rebuilt into the 2010 Hybrid demo...

I haven't seen a photo of the unit with a small meatball logo - in 2005 GE made changes to their corporate identity program so it is likely the photo in on their website is doctored to conform to the current logo standards.

Leave it to Kato to pick an oddball unit number to model, ie one that was renumbered or rebuilt.

Sort of like the UP 9997 which was also renumbered or the UP SD70ACE's: all even numbers. Or the late SD70M Flares - the smallest batch of a 1200 unit fleet. Or the 700 series BNSF C44-9W's.

I love Kato models but I never get over the bizzare choices they make...

Yeah, I might wait for FVM to release this scheme....

I originally meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but seriously, has the lack of molded-on parts hurt the FVM sales?

I haven't heard of anyone deciding to wait for the Katos in order to get molded-on grabirons.
