Bryan,That 7825 is HOT!!! I wish I'd have done it that way. I was at that stage where I had it weathered up but still in PC, but a little voice said "you have a proto photo of 7797; you can't just ignore it." I could have. The engine doesn't look as light in person; it's still pretty black. It looks fine to me, but I wonder if I squandered the chance for a higher level of hotness. Let me run her for a while and see; it's nothing to strip and re-decal her back to PC.
Did PC really put the ACI labels on the side of the hood?
...but she does look a little too clean
As much as I love PC..in early CR, the RDG and LV paint-outs are much more appealing to the eye/interesting than PC paint-outs.Dave you just missed out, MBK had the Atlas Master GP38 LV units on closeout $49...10 bucks less than undec.I tucked one away for when I pick a LV paint out to do.
I don't know, paint outs weren't always filthy like you'd think.....
I'm thinking about an Atlas GP7 and leaving it PC for these reasons (the two Atlas road numbers):http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/pc/pc5633ads.jpghttp://www.rr-fallenflags.org/pc/pc5628ads.jpgI much prefer long hood forward (that's what she said?). Tell me a PC GP7 isn't hot... It might be plausible to be straight PC in 1980 (although not likely) in that the high-hoods seemed to be at the back of the repaint line.
