If that weren't sitting on N track, I'd think it was Lionel.

I HOPE that's not even a paint sample, cause it's bad... blue ends and black sides on the cupola? WTF?

I saw the facebook post Lee. We'll see if they ax it.  You are right, at that price without any real improvements, they will be discounting them very steeply. Glad I didn't order many...if any for the shop.

Are these new pics?

Jason

This is a joke, right?

I'm not sure if this is really what we're getting. The N&W artwork originally was for the red scheme, now they are showing blue with the LL run road # ... http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/932-50054

Thanks to this though, my expectations have been lowered (they we're low to begin with!)

Not so fast:  Walthers has been known to Photoshop older products that they deem close enough to depict paint schemes on new products.

I just posted on their facebook thing too.

Lets hope if enough of us complain publicly, they'll get a clue.

That's lazy, and lousy, advertising strategy.

What happened to the Bettendorf Swing Motion trucks?

Color is wrong on the PC, fonts are wrong on both the CR and PC in addition to the black cupola sides.

If they are actually on the production model, let's hope they allow the caboose to sit on the rails better than the trucks in this picture.  Look close at the truck on the right.  One wheelset is sitting off the rails!  Of course, it could just be that the monster flanges are riding the ties!  ;D

Ok, so I contacted WKW directly about this (asking why the N&W artwork was red, then the pic is blue, also about the lack of window glass), got a quick reply:

Dear Mr. _____:

The caboose - item number 932-50054 - is blue.  Although the original
release of this product had window glass, the re-issued product is coming
through without window glass.

We appreciate your interest and your inquiry.  Happy Modeling!

Sincerely,
