O.K., I know some of you have read this over on the Atlas board and I'm surprised no one here has made any comments.  I know one Virginian fan who would want one and for the NH, PC and Conrail Queens, this will go over big - if true.

If true, it is big.  I didn't see any evidence of such in Springfield, but to be honest I only made a cursory pass through their suite and didn't see anything new related to N.

I always view Bachmann announcements with a skeptical eye. Very hit or miss though the batting average has been increasing in recent times.

The EL-C, as it would properly be called  ;), could be done in:

VGN
N&W
NH
PC
Conrail

Probably more useful to the NH/PC/CR crowd, as they were built 56-57, VGN merged into N&W late 59, N&W ran the the old VGN electric for a year or two then pulled the plug, then on to NH and successors!

I have no use for this as the idea of stringing catenary is not exactly appealing to me. :-X (I will still ooh and ah at a good model though!)

Mark (one guy that's glad N&W took down their own catenary in the late 40s!)

I wonder if they put on rapidos on them? Then make it next to impossible to convert them.

I would be great for me if they made them.  Then I wouldn't have to scratchbuild them.

I'd love to get my hands on a pair. Maybe two if they'd serve as a reasonable kitbash to the E44.

Then maybe I'd start modeling the NEC in 1980, because between those and the GG1s, I'd be set. Oh, I'd also have to do some E60s, but that's no worry.

Wait - you'd string Cat?  Oh boy, building your layout just got a whole lot more fun for those of us who have self-appointed to the Crew!

Well if they ever did these, it would seem to me that certain people here could easily do a resin body to fit over the unit.  Weren't the trucks the same on both?

Well, I know a guy... and I think I can bribe him with booze.

I've actually thought a bit about doing it on the future plan, in limited bits. Having some black and blue units would make that a definite.

These do not help one bit:

Something about those E44s... used to sit and watch them (as well as GG1s) buzzing up and down the line during lunch at Princeton Junction... many moons ago...
