They look great!   I'm glad Matt stuck with the slightly thicker, sturdier handrails instead of going the Intermountain route. The only problem is that like Atlas locos, you get the thick paint on the end railings that almost look dipped on. You have to wonder if it would be better not to paint them at all.

Other than that - fantastic - and he hit the target date - which is pretty impressive. When was the last time Atlas did that.

btw - I'm amazed, you really don't notice the lack of the grab irons, I would definitely leave them off.

Matt was at our Model Railroad Club Christmas party last night here in Milwaukee.  Matt was a member/builder of the Milwaukee N Southeastern Model Railroad Club located on the southside of Milwaukee in Cudahy.  Matt brought one of the BNSF Gevo's along with him.  He also had "paint samples" of the other Gevo releases.  WOW, they look really nice.  I have a couple of the Iowa Interstates coming from Chuck.  Several of the others look reall good too.

Pretty impressive.  How are the handrails attached -- are they molded to the walkways like Kato, or press-fit into holes like IM?

Well, I'm am glad he didn't go the Intermountain route, but I think the handrails are still the biggest give away that this is an N scale loco.  This is no knock on FVM at all - I understand the reasons for it; it's just that I've been obsessing about handrails lately (ever since Ed re-posted his NS SD70M with home made replacement handrails).  If only there were a simple, sturdy, more-scale-sized after-market option (for this and many other diesels)...

He captured the prototype extremely well...   It looks like a typical dull as dry toast wide cab toaster...  Beautifully rendered, but not my cup of tea.

May it sell well enough to entice him to do an Alco switcher!

There is HO scale.

Wonder if a replacement handrail set could be etched ot of brass so that it's one piece. That way those of us who aren't great at soldering don't have to worry about messing up brass wire and brass stanchions. Heck, if that was done, I'd buy several sets in HO.
