Shouldn't this be more correctly termed the "Twin Cities Hiawatha"?  This set never ran west of Miineapolis right?

Looks like another CGW passenger car is in the mix.  What are my chances at an undecorated coach. LOL

You're right about where it ran, but it was called simply the Hiawatha, as the first of its kind.  You're thinking too modern when the Hiawatha name was marketed to other trains, necessitating the prefix's like Olympian Hi, Twin Cities Hi, Northwoods Hi, etc.  At the time, this was the one and only Hiawatha.

Why bother with an undec when you could be bothering Matt for later versions with the three ribs on already for you?

Ya know; this is what drives me nuts (and I know what you said was in jest) but on a few other sites there are some pundants already openly questioning the Fox Valley product ( which is just dumb as it's not even out yet) and yearning for Kato to ride in on a white steed and make a "real" Hiawatha.....

What is Kato putting in the freakin water........?

Kato's products are good; but this isn't 1990; they are not the only  option and frankly; they are no better than the rest of the majors..... I am so discouraged by the " oh rat's my train has been announced but it's not a Kato" crowd that I am surprised that anyone dares to announce anyhting anymore...

Here's hoping that the Fox valley model kicks a@@ and shut's up the Kato-Aid quaffers............

Pud, don't forget Kato's glacial releases... and the fact that most items are BNSF and UP. When was the last time Kato released a locomotive painted for CR? The mid-production SD40-2 could have been done for IC, but still we wait.

Most pundits that wish Kato would have done this Hiawatha would be long dead before Kato gets to their wish list.

The FVM Hiawatha is incredible - and sets FVM apart doing something totally unique. GEVO's on the other hand are something you would expect from Kato - I don't think you can possibly acuse our Kato friends of being me-too on that one.

Outside the insane enthusiast community here at Railwire, products like the Hiawatha could actually bring new people into the hobby - I sure hope so!

The new ESM reefer also was commented on by a New England HO-er I know - to the effect "this might be the time to move to N-scale".

I think the Kato announcement was more directed toward Kato's recent tendency to announce products after other manufacturers (Deluxe Innovations in particular) announces them.
