I guess we should pay attention to this show (or not)

I have to let my clients and others make their own announcements in their own time. One might not be making it at TrainFest as there is already enough announced new stuff in the pipeline..... but The Biggie will be made in Milwaukee for sure.

I do note, on an unrelated observation, that Bachmann's 44 Tonner has a nice, small motor in it that would easily fit into a Ten Wheeler or Decapod..... and their 50 FT Flatcar with Load is hardly a N Scale 2010 program. Hope springs eternal.

I would be surprised to see new steam announced by Bachmann at the show. But who knows.

I do know Charlie had been working up Baldwin's Big Centercabs and had heard somebosy was interested. So maybe that's the biggie.

However, the way he was talking in my thread was not usually like Charlie, which means if he's that giddy, it has too be something bigger!! Maybe even my AS616!

Either will be fine by me, Andy! I have a soft spot for the Trona having 'fanned them a few times during their extended Baldwin era, so if somebody does either in the joshua tree scheme there will be an excuse made for a corresponding branchline on my layout.

It seems clear Charlie's ref to Bachmann as being "unrelated" that this is not the "biggie".

Given the location is Milwaukee, I think the Hiawatha speculation is a front runner for the BIG announcement. That said, Charlie has been talking this up like this is some sort of game changer in N. As much as I love the Milwaukee Road, this doesn't seem to qualify in that regard. Maybe I am reading too much into his atypical posts. Getting back to the Hiawatha, there is the question of which one. You can have a cool streamlined steamer or you can have the Superdome and Skytop Lounge, but you can't have them in the same trainset. I would prefer the latter, but would happily purchase whatever comes out.

I'll be there with my camera and will try to post some photos on Saturday.

Ok Bob, where did those CAD files come from?

Given that Charlie is a midwesterner and big CB&Q fan the possibilities are endless. E5? Denver Zephyr? MILW 261? Hiawatha?

We'll find out in about a week.

Doesn't sound like a Hiawatha to me: one bright color; everybody with a layout will want; it will "blow the roof off"... A new power delivery system? A quality sound system?  (But maybe this quote is not referring to the "biggie".)

Ahhh that's a horse of another [one bright] color ... I'll change my vote to a new prototypical Knuckle Coupler then.

BTW those pics are not from just a CAD file, but from a Solidworks file for the 1935 Milw Hiawatha Class A Atlantic along with the Combine, Coach/Parlor,and Obvs for the set.
