Little puddles of super glue.  Someone on this forum posted the idea back on aught five or so.  I think it was Red Rock.  I just got around to trying it! ;D

I bought a more liquidly CA to try to minimize the bumpiness.  To my eye, the first photo looked like those little round candies that are stuck to the paper! ;D ;D  After this new CA dried, I used a file and sandpaper to blend everything together.

I like the final version better. I agree, it looked a little unnatural.

The shapes are good, but I'm loving the coloration as much. It looks oddly "swirly" for lack of a better word.

I did this with a hot soldering iron from the inside.  This is one of the cars I lowered by cutting out the factory floor.  I did the dents before I took out the floor, hence the oddly high dent line.  On the inside of the car, there was quite a  bit of molten plastic blobs, so I filed them relatively flat, then use a Dremel with a cone shaped grinder to smooth it out to look more like bent up sheet metal.

I've got to shoot some more pictures... I don't have any handy of the car interior...

I like the color/texture -- do you have a proto pic?   The superglue bumps to me look more like heat melted than dents.

One thought, has anyone ever tried replacing the plastic sides with a thin sheet metal, like say a 0.005" to 0.010" brass?   Or perhaps a gon carbody kit using photo-etched parts?  Something like that might be easier to dent up than plastic.  (then there could be interior dents too)
