Boy, I bet Gregg would have loved to see that.  Beautiful work on that car.

I'm about 3/4 of the way done with mine.  What did you use for decals?

Thanks Lee still miss Greg around here  :'(.

Thanks Ed is your Dad building one as well?

Chris I used bits and pieces of different decals some I bought of the Ebay  that dont have the manufacturer and bits and pieces of used Microscale sets. The numbers like Cu ft. Cap. Ect. are not exactly correct but I just went for the best I could till Bob can get his decals done.
The Hardest part was finding an H close enough I finally used one from a Microscale Lehigh Valley set.
All and all I think it came out good I am quite happy with it.

I found the kit fairly easy to build and it is quite strong once it is soldered together.

Allen,

That looks great! You did a great job. I see you used the wire instead of the etched "staples". That really added to the kit. The paint job really made the details pop out. Really cool!

I am going to be @ Timonium so I can talk with Steve first hand to find out what is the delay in the decals. I should have had them already.

Thanks Bob ,this kit actually gave me the idea to machine up a set of plyers so could easily bend all the straight and drop grab irons.Once the grab irons were on it really popped cant wait to build another thanks.

Hi Dave it took me around 8 hours to build give or take. I worked a few hours a night till it was all together then decal and paint. The next one should not take me as long now that I know were everything goes ;D.
And being a welder I had to solder it all together I used different temp solders and allot of flux only problem I ran into was trying to figure out how to hold some of the parts together so I could solder them  >:( But I worked through it and got it done and most importantly had fun doing it.

Allen, this is what I use to bend brass. I have a small tutorial on using this seamer on my site. To hold larger brass pieces for soldering, try a drop of CA and begin soldering in a different location. As you approach the CA, the heat will crack the bond and I then use some Tix Flux to clean the surface where the CA was.

Great tip Bob thanks a bunch the next one is going to be even easier now.

And the pliers I machined were for bending the grabs to exact dimensions and also machined a little recessinto the pliers as well to bend the drop in the grab they work great.
I will try to post a pic tonight.

I bought mine on e-bay. It would be done by now, but I was working on Z scale at the time. Still I couldn't resist getting started. I'd be nice in Z scale!  ;D

If the N-Scale uses Z-Scale couplers, would the Z-Scale have T-Scale couplers?  ;D

Dammit Mark, it's fixed.  8)
