Was the five panel door standard equipment?  Or did you have that put in and it's just waiting the buff and tuscan paint? :D

The five-panel doors are standard in this development...called "The Farm" on a former farm between Colorado Springs and Monument.  All the trim and most of the exterior architecture in the neighborhood is farmhouse-themed (or, oddly, mid-century modern).

I like the random finishes and details on the exterior.  Pray do they run around the sides and back as well?  Or does it suffer from "Development Thrift" and offer nothing but vinyl?

Hopefully you've got some good flashings at those second story windows...  Looks like more than a couple of inches of snow and you'll be shoveling the upstairs bedrooms out... :D

We're toying with a trip west later this year... I'll keep you posted if we get close.  You'll want plenty of time to lock the doors and go to your hair appointment... :trollface:

Really very Nice Dave. 
I agree with Lee that there is little room between the lower sill of those 2nd floor windows and the roof.
Something to be mindful of in the event snow piles up. 
I'd hate to imagine you going from window to window with a hair dryer.   :scared:

A simple snow rake can easily deal with the snow in front of those second floor windows, if melted snow and leaks are a concern.

Snow doesn't really melt here the way it does back East.  Because of the dry air and intense sunlight it mostly sublimates...i.e., solid directly to vapor.

We had a good 6-7" last week but per usual the wind scoured it all off the roof.

Also the snow here usually has a lower liquid content...tends to be dry and powdery or fluffy.  We get maybe one Eastern style wet snow a year or so.

But yes, the windows are very well flashed.  The code out here is pretty unforgiving.

Am guessing that as has been discussed elsewhere that the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole.

I feel like my N scale Pennsy phase is at an end.  While I've been deep into HOn3 these days I've had the Pennsy on life support because of inertia.  Well...  It might be time to say goodbye.

No one in this neck of the woods would want a Pennsy layout.  Might be time to sell off the parts.

Not sure if you have given this much thought but if you still want to see your collection or parts consider making some nice low profile dioramas. Can take the stress percesicly out of the N scale steam issue you mentioned in the other thread (sorry CMR). Would be able to take photographs or simply enjoy taking a look at a nice PRR train. If the Juniata is feeling like an anchor or dead weight I say try to cash out other than what you can't get rid of. I am a few years out of N other than some small false starts and held on to a few precious pieces of rolling stock (and partially built buildings I would get peanuts for) just in case.. am between tearing down and planning a new HO layout and may make a small n switching layout as a hold over.

I highly recommend that you attempt to sell it on eBay.  You have quite a following and the world-famous Juniata Division has been published, so it would not surprise me to see it sell.  I think it's worth more as a complete layout than parting it out (which will be a pain in the butt and a lot more work).  It won't cost you a thing if you get no action, but you may be surprised. Throw it up on the 'Bay for a week or ten days and see what happens.  Just be clear that the layout must be picked up, i.e., no shipping, and it is as-is.  Good luck, Dave.  I regret that I never got to see it in person.
