I have an HO kit as well. All I read about it is how bad the windows fit and it's best to replace them... hey wait maybe they did make this N scale version  :P

Would be cool to figure out the history of the N scale version. At least I got the loading dock and boiler house, they are 2 of the blobs you see in my photo.

Hey wait, get back to the other layout!  :D

Any one have a good source of micro-mini SPDT switches that have the same throw distance as the Radio Shack ones?

I need them to finish the Colorado Midland, but when I do this re-build of the mill I'm also going to replace the Lewistown yard trackage withcode 55.  That means two turnouts that need SPDT switches for control and power.

I'll do this JD track replacement incrementally.

RDA doesn't make any N scale kits that I know of.

RDA *did* release kits in N about 20 years ago, I had that same Easton Mill as well as the Buzzard's Bay Tower kit that I built somewhere during the late 1990s.

Wow, this thread was buried...

Although not layout progress, I made some Pennsy progress.

Started working through my backlog of weathering projects.

First, Micro Trains H31 hoppers (with black play sand coal loads, idea by @davefoxx):

Then some Pennsy covered hoppers, specifically two H30as and an H32:

Lastly, some Merchandise Service X29 boxcars:

What did you do to your boxcars? Just a browny wash?

Haven't touched the thread in a while but the windfall of PRR steam has been keeping the layout busy (and loud!):

Try shooting these movies in B&W? That would look pretty interesting.
