Great stuff guys.

Had a great time running at a local layout on Saturday.  Got me fired up to resolve the layout design now that I have a bit more space to work with.  After I started thinking outside the right angle box it came together nicely.  I'll try to get a track plan together soon.  It doesn't look like much right now but it's big progress for me!  And no, that's not the lower deck height as shown.   ;)

Tom - Once they find out you can do those kind of things, you're finished buddy.  Might as well sell it all now  ;D

Brian:

Very nice engines - who makes the red cable on the front of the locomotives?  I need one of those for my C-630M.

Thanks for looking.

Tim

Hi Tim,

The cables are made and sold by Atlas.  I use the MU Cable off the Dash 8-40B series of loco's.  At a whooping $0.50 for 2, I've been using them to outfit all of my engines.  Now that the Dash 8-40C and CW are out, I'm waiting to get the yellow version for a little more variety.  I order direct from Atlas.

The part number is 9487356.

I almost forgot, I did these on Friday afternoon.  I have this thing with weird 33K tankers that never existed....  ::)  Can you tell I have to much time on my hands waiting for school to start...

I've been working on a slate floor

are you really laying it all out first.  really.  man up mr. mann.  you only need to sort out the first bits in the corner once you do some math.  and that diagonal, don't do it if you intend to also tile the step up into the other room there.  you'll never get the joints to line up and it will haunt you forever, and ever, and ever ;)

looks good.

Week 1 of my roadtrip with my son on the bike is over and tomorrow we head back north. We stopped last Sunday at the Virginia Transportation museum and checked out 611 and 1218. Also got some railfaning in too. Had lunch with Tivo on Wednesday, thanks again JJ.

Also got to do same great riding while down here in north Georgia. Over 700 miles of stuff like this...

Hopefully the gods will bestow the kind of weather on us this week as last week for the trip back.

It's HHH and ATS time here on the shore (Hazy Hot and Humid, Afternoon Thunder Storms).  When you come this way, plan to roll in by about 4 ish.  We can stow the bike in the garage if the weather closes in when we go to the club.  As an FYI, there's a nice B&B next door to my house if we get a real gulley washer...  And heck, push come to shove you can just stay here... The wife and kids are at the beach all week!

looks good.

Step is done, but i didn't try to line up the cuts!  (photos are from last week).

And yes, I did lay out most of the tiles because they varied in thickness by 3/8 inch and size by 1/2 inch.  Plus, I wanted to play with the patterns.
