Who's Our Man in Portland and Where are the Reports?

Okay, fess up...who's supposed to be reporting in on the doings at the N-Scale Collector's Convention in Portland?

Chuck gave us the scoop on the FVM GEVO's (with some very fuzzy pictures); is that all that was announced today?  Come on, there's got to be more news than that!  The Swap-O-Rama ended HOURS ago; where are the updates?

What about the Micro-Trains heavyweight cars?  Were they on display?
For that matter, what are the MT July releases, surely they showed them?

I know Atlas was absent due to Paul being WIA, but what about all the other manufacturers?
Kato?  (okay, I know they normally announce at the NTS)
Intermountain?
Deluxe?

How about some pictures!

I will get to the show early in the morning and snap some pictures with my real camera and not my phone. I was busy with my table today at the Swap-o-Rama and did not get a chance to have much of a look around.

I was next door to InterMountain and I will tell you that I saw an actual running sample of the AC12. It looked great and ran very smoothly.
IM is still shooting for a November delivery.

I also got to see the shipping version of the Eastern Seaboard Models G26 Mill Gondola. These are just flat out beautiful. The detail is insane. Just great. Bryan has got a hit on his hands with these. He even has the correct trucks on the various paint schemes. Now, that is attention to detail. These get my vote for best new rolling stock of the year even if it is only June.

Athearn has samples of the Bay Window Cabooses. I did not see them but people that saw them said look very good. John Engstrom (sp) from Athearn stopped at my booth and said they would probably do a WP version in the next run. This made me happy.

FVM had his new 28" wheels that fit MTL, Athearn and in a separate package Atlas.

He also told me that he would be releasing a metal wheel with a wider tread for those that use code 80 track. Good news on that front.

I'll be back with more tomorrow.

Thanks for the update Chuck!

Re-reading my post, I realize I should have added some smilies and j/k...my post was meant to be a humorous "rant" to generate some additional reports, but instead it came off kinda whiney without much humor.

Sorry if I offended anyone.

I promise to do better next time!  ;D

Eastern Seaboard Models Gondola

I turned up the brightness on these to try and show the detail.

Here's a shot of our RPO...bits and pieces...before the underframe dimensions have been finalized.   Working on proper heights once we have the final shots of the wheels to work off of.

GATX - Cool. Wire grabs on the roof walk ends. The FVM MILW box has that too.

The RPO look promising. 8)

You got anymore pictures of the GEVO?
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.
