I read something recently about a Bachmann advisory with respect to overheating the motors in these things. Does anyone else remember this, or have I been doing too much spray painting without ventilation? If it's a valid concern, should we not be careful about adding weight?

There is a thermal fuse to protect the DCC board if the motor over-loads or over-heats.

It said something in the instructions about a thermal switch. I ripped all that crap out and figured overheating was a DCC thing.

I don't really think an extra 34 grams will hurt. I don't plan a pull fest with it, just want it better planted to the rails. Just because.

BTW, it just happened to be the extra weight came out to exactly 34.something grams. It is only 90% tungsten so only 17g/cm3, not 19.25g/cm3 like pure tungsten. Ordered from www.tungsten.com, they said the 90% stuff would machine easier. Still waiting for my order, they said 4 weeks.
