Can't hardly believe it but...

Do the coupler cover clips hit the end beam on everyone's TopGon's?

Haven't looked at it too much, but it may either be the bolster isn't quite tall enough, or that the screw for the weight is causing the truck bolster to cant up on the coupler side...

Either way, was really surprised that this happened with Robbman at the helm...   :'(

Exactly who told you that these cars were designed to be put on the track and run?

I had the same problem with the Exactrail Vert-a-pack car.  I had assumed that the clips aren't within spec if they stick out beyond the lid, but I only had the one car.

Mike, not exactly sure what you're referring to...

I tested a random 36 car set on a friends layout and they run without a single derailment for hours.  Have you even tried running them, or are you just ASSuming there is a problem?

If you're converting to Micro-Trains, you will have to use their provided shim; this will lower the bolster due to their un-prototypically high coupler box (hence the reason all of their cars ride so high).  That said, had we made the bolster lower (ie., to accept Micro-Trains trucks/couplers), we would have taken a ton of flack for "un-prototypical ride height", and rightly so...

I'll end with......  Just wait, jussssttttt wwwaaaaiiiittttt      ;)

Haha, Craig called me an a$$.

Never said there were derailments, there's just clicking as the clips on the coupler cover hit the end beam.  It's Pitchfork and Torches Friday, so I'm out to get Robbman this week.   :-*

I didn't see your post on TB yesterday Gary, but I had formed the same conclusion too....

It's a heck of a lot easier to fix this than to fix MTL and FVM cars which are too high!

So what you have to swipe a file across the bottom of the ends so the coupler box will swing?  Big whoppidie-do.  :P

I think Mike just doesn't have flat enough track work  ;D

IF that turns out to be true, and the GEVOs don't have cast-on grabirons, then I'd better go buy some Lottery tickets real quick  :)

Why is it necessary to take a shot at MTL to defend your design?
