The GP35 was tooled in the Atlas Kato days, as a result it has wider than scale hoods compared to the Atlas tooled hoods (GP38, SD35).

Are the base bodies the same ?
This (SD35/GP38 high nose) will result in a "scale width" short hood, with a "fat" long hood. If that works for you then by all means do it!
Any idea if Atlas plans on retooling the GP35 to correct the fatness?
Measure the hood width differences, the GP is about 3.5 N SCALE INCHES wider then the SD.If that bothers you I think yuou all need a different hobby. ;D
Mark - can the SD-35 LONG and short HHoods be used to kitbash the GP-35, (providing scale width hoods)? Is this where the GP-35 walkway section would be too wide and have a gap ? Is the GP=35 motor itself too wide for the SD-35 long hood kitbash ?What about using another walkway section, maybe kitbashed from GP-38 ??I'm just trying to learn from you who have made these ..........
