I'm not in the hunt for any GEVO's but this has been a fun thread. With a day or two to go let's see.

Athearn, and now PWRS is out.

IM just announced an SD40-2W. OUT, it's not in them to announce two big projects in he same month or so.

Atlas. Not really their marketing style, but they haven't announced a new loco in awhile. So maybe but I still doubt it since they just announced a new car. They allowed the topic because we are behaving ourselves and it is in print so something is out.

Kato. Maybe, possibly, But just after announcing a new passenger train. Probably not them but not completely out.

MTL.  OUT

Bachmann - This would be COMPLETELY outta character for them. OUT.

Bluford Shops. Nobody has said anything about them, but I know it's not them. They have other things on their plate.

Walthers/Lifelike - Maaaybe. They have been mighty quiet in N scale for quite awhile. The ad is not normal for them and they are too conservative for this type of marketing but............naahhh!

Wheels of Time - That would be a shocker, major darkhorse. I'd say they are not in the running.

ExactRail - Possibility. I would put them in running as we head down the stretch. The ad is right up their alley and in NSR they said they "have an inventory of tooled products about ready to go". If ypou're looking for a long shot, Exactrail is not it.

Trainworx - They haven't gotten their Thrall 86' ers out yet have they? Nope, not them.

BLMA - Again, Craig is energetic and a good marketer. Can't count him out, but he still hasn;t delivered a car yet, so I can't think its him.

PCM/BLI - GOD I hope not. Charlie has worked with them and after what he said on another forum, we have to leave them in the running, but they have to get better at understanding the market if they are gonna get  alot of orders.

FVM - In the pack. Matt knows his business and has some experience. Still, that's a big project fo any one man show.

Red Caboose. OUT.

Bowser - nobody has mentioned them, but that would the invisible man on the dark horse.

Deluxe Innovations. - nobody has even mentioned Dave that I know of. He has been mighty quiet lately. Walthers jus tput out a bunch of new releases for DI, but maybe  Dave has a BIG surprise out for us. He has said he had no desire to do a loco before, but he likes the modern stuff and this would be a logical next step. If I had a dollar for aongshot that had a chance to pay off, I'd put it on DI

Dapole - Lord know. After the stunt they pulled last year, I can't take them seriously, they sure can BS their way to oblivion.

If I were a betting man, I'd say Exactrail to win but I'd put a dollar on DI and FVM just for the heck of it.

It's GE. Seeing as 1:1 locomotive sales are down, they're venturing into scale models to boost sales.

Bonus, they'll be made in Erie  ;)

there was a reason why I did ask the Inventor question...

Exactrail doesn't show on the vendor list at NSC, nor does BLMA... not a way to make a splash to forget to show up to the place you're unveiling your model????

Atlas or Kato, Atlas or Kato!

I've seen this twice now in this thread... the TopGons are out already, they were all (both scales are sold out) shipped to distributors/delaers/pre-orders by the 9th.

When Kato did the SD40 back in the day (1994) they had a blueprint SD40 add in MR for it.

I got a feeling that it is Atlas, which would be great because we would get both AC and DC versions of them with all there different phases in east coast roads.

Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

Sorry, but they have not arrived at our shop yet nor have they shown up on an invoice for an order that has been shipped yet.

If the Atlas marketing department can come up with an ad like this one that I found, I wouldn't be surprised a bit if the GEVO is their 60th anniversary surprise. :o

Can anyone tell if it has separate grabs--especially on the nose?  That would rule Kato out because they would do molded ones, while Atlas GE widecabs have had separate grabs for years.
