Maybe it's "True Line Trains"....remember; "Quality Beyond Compare"..........or, maybe not  ;)
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I still think that it is Atlas.

2nd guess would be FVM. or ExactRail

I'm interested and I don't even need any GEVOs    ::)

Just imagine the possibilities if Kato were to license their existing mechanisms to others (again?): a decent tunnel motor, a proper BNSF Dash-9, Conrail SD40-2s, eastern roads galore...  (and GEVOs).   That would stop a lot of whining.

But then I'd whine about their overly wide EMD mechanisms!

Starting over (  ;D ), if the prototype is so new, why is it a good choice to make into a model?  Plus, it looks too much like previous GE's.  Why do you think that a new startup company would choose this prototype?

(I'm happy that Mark4Design would do this though)

That would be a stunt Dapole would pull. I've heard people speculate about a joint venture. Kato licensing out there mechanism would be interesting. I just don't see them doing it. Especially with their commitments to production runs for the Japanese and rest of world.

Two things. How good is rapid prototyping compared to the normal tooling? And could it be mass produced with same efficiency as regular ABS Plastic?

  • Steve4 says he knows and is a big supporter of Craig

Bob, that is really flattery but no, honestly, I don't know who it is...
...my remark "I know something you don't..." on the first page was just in the direction of a dealer outside California who always plays this games so we all think he knows more than we do because he is SO important in this business !  ;)

BLMA detail parts all the way...  ;D

Why GEVOs? They are one of only two modern locomotive platforms, and there are a lot of potential roadnames - albeit with many detail differences.

Are you joking here or what?  While GE is the new EMD when it comes to every model different (there's like ten or so ES series phases by now)... you've got NS, CSX, BNSF, UP, Ferromex, KCS, KCSdM, CP and CN as owners... throw in the GE demos and the lone Cemex units for SnG...
