Just heard via jungle drums it's Triang - 1970s style, so expect couplers the size of boxing gloves, ride height that makes you think the MT SP caboose is a lowrider, a coffee grinder mech, plastic that warps in the sun and bullet proof windows as standard. ;)

So it looks like a -9 from the frame down.

Yes.. Kato has the perfect mechanism...
Doesn't look like there advertising style though... the Drawing is too much in focus...  :D

You know, I'm starting to think this was actually a crummy advertising move...

People are off on forums - and poking around every n-scale website looking for clues.  Very little traffic or attention is focused on the actual vendor.

A better idea would have been an ad like "On June 18th, xxxx will unveil a model that will change modern n-scale railroading forever" - then put the attention on them, their website and us guessing what it is.

It's an awesome ad move. Alot of people are speculating, foruming and surfing to find out. Whoever did it knows little psychology, not to mention Kirk reddie's magazine gets a little free advertising too. I say the more speculation, the better.

The other side of this, whoever puts out the ad had better deliver, the sooner the better. Delays or buzz building as way to gauge demand will get you far worse than mud in your eye.

I remember the hype when Kato announced the heritage units. If they had been ready then, I would have bought in.  But by the time the were actually ready, I had lost interest.

Was this part of the Jim and Tammy series?

They even got Chris333 researching GEVOs.   8)

P.S. Dave - I agree with your points.  Like many other spheres, our language is changing rapidly.  No wonder few of us could ever read Old English today.

Is that Old English, Olde English, or Ol' English?

Sometimes I think rappers are the most creative users of our language anymore.  It certainly isn't the poets.

It is Atlas' 60th Anniversary and I'm sure Tom Haedrach plans something special...and maybe a little tease about it if Paul gets to participate...

we can only hope you're right... !   ;D ;D

Since I am doing some custom items with Athearn, I had a chance to discuss the GEVO ad with them. I had to point the ad out to them in the mag.

So, straight from the "horse's mouth" ... it is NOT Athearn.

BTW, Athearn is moving to Long Beach. Just found that out today.

Hmmmm....  Kind of too bad, as Athearn would be the one other guy I would trust for a loco after Kato and Atlas.

I lean back on what I've said before - It's Atlas - I put my 10 cents down on it...

Since it will be known within days - please make your BEST AND FINAL GUESS NOW!
