Mixed bag here. Let's start with a PRR FF-2 2-C-C-2 on the ready track at Enola, PA, in August 1957. The ex-GN units were used as "snappers":

Next I was in Ackworth, GA, on Dec. 26, 1956, photographing the NC&StL, which became part of the L&N the following year.

A trio of F-units barrels toward Atlanta headed by 811. Look at the unusual end on the boxcar to the left of the unit!

GP9 730 gets right in the middle of the local switching. "The Dixie Line" was unusual in tha cab and hood type Diesels had completely different color schemes:

Next week??? Probably Gainesville Midland.

Last week I said I was "pretty sure" I posted all of my old stuff, well, I ended
up finding a handful more that had been missing since I 1st re-discovered them
some 3 years ago. I think there are a few here that have been posted previously,
but added for sake of continuity & the fact the quality is a tad better (scanner
over digital pic of print)

These were from the summer of 1980, July I believe. I went up to CR's now
long gone Mace Tower, & found a northbound Chessie train holding at the
crossover, assuming a CR freight was approaching:

Soon a westbound CR piggyback approached, & the orange dot next to the tower is the operator,
getting ready to hand up orders. (no zoom on a pocket cam)

Once it passed, the Chessie freight proceeded north towards Warwick:

A while later, this short CR local showed up, presumably to work the small interchange yard
there, headed by B23-7 #1903.

There are a few more, & a some still may be MIA. but that's it for now.

Those Chessie GP-9's represent probably the only application of that paint scheme I can stomach.  I'd prefer the big yellow block lettering, but I remember seeing so many of those Geeps around Baltimore...

A lot of photos this week! My dial-up is in agony.

I can't remember if I've posted this before.
