With some company in town and an itch to see what has changed in the twenty years, I hit a couple towns within a days round trip.
First, C&S #60 in Idaho Springs. Last time I stayed here was at the Indian Springs Hotel. The room had no TV and we had to share a bathroom. But the hot springs pool is worth it.
Next is the Georgetown loop. They are using a H.K. Porter locomotive from US Gypsum. I asked about steam and was told that they are having boiler issues with their Hawaiian loco.
At the other end is Silver Plume where they have their shops and some interesting equipment.
