Was poking around YouTube tonight and saw this:

This is just plain hawt.  Note the Penn Central MP54s near the end.  This has everything from Amtrak GG1s to early CR blue!

Awesome video.  I liked the WM and Virginian snippets that were thrown in...

That's the kind of trains I used to watch back in the day.  Brings back lots of memories.  I'll repost some late PC - Early Conrail stuff shorty just for your pleasure.

Here's a photo taken at Virginia Ave tower in Wash, D.C.  Helps when one of your old railfanning buddies worked at the tower.  Hope you like it.

The GM6C was in the video...

Still looks like a SD30 with a reverse Mohawk haircut.

Ooh, thanks for sharing, Dr. V!  That's some of my railfan stomping grounds, as the first part of the video is filmed at Amtrak's (ex-PRR) and CSX's (ex-B&O) Susquehanna River bridges in Perryville, Maryland.

If I could only go back in time to appreciate that era more; I was too young.  I do, however, remember some of the grade crossings on the Northeast Corridor, before they were eliminated and the many overpasses built.  Those trains were flying through this area even then, and I shudder today when I think of how many times I was a passenger in a car or a church bus that went around malfunctioning crossing gates!  :o
