True Line Trains 50' Paper Box car

Picked up a few of the just released True Line Trains 50's paper hauling box cars - a few comments...

- Colour for the CP Rail car is excellent - all graphics are sharp and clear
- The separate door rods and ladders are a nice touch and add epth - they look very nice
- All paint schemes I saw were well done - the Boise car was excellent.
One issue - I think they ride a wee bit high - especually compared to a FVM double door I placed one beside... and some people think they ride too high - you be the judge....

All in all, not a bad model for the 24.99 Canadian price tag....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Oh snap... looks like I won't be eating for a couple of months. They do look quite high, but all in all, nice to have them.

Actually, they look REALLY hight to me. And the FVM cars (sorry Matt) aren't super low riders either.

I should defer to those who've seen them in person, but the painting and molding looks a little "soft" to me too, but that could very, very, easily be the photo doing that.

And would the ladder over the multi mark be green?  Or painted into the logo?

Pud, any idea if they sorted the problems with the BCOL car? Think Tim said it was numbered incorrectly, I need to check back with him.

Umm, is it the photo or does the upper door track end on the wrong panel.  The track doesn't look like it's long enough for the door to open to the stops.

..if anyone cares.

edit: it actually looks like the whole track is shifted on panel over as it may be too long on the left.

True-Line dished out the money and did the design... so we should just suck it up and pay whatever they're charging... my god man, what's wrong with you... thinking a model should at least look like the prototype...

As a public service to those of you (you know who you are) who salivate at shish k bobbing all new products I submit the following for you review.....

Indeed the upper track is shifted one panel to the left...oops !

Don't all go off at once calling for the head of Alfredo Garcia....take a number and do it in turn..... ::)

Car still looks great to me despite what appears to be a silly error................and yes Lee the end ladder isn't painted like the photo.....easy fix.

Are they the same people who comment on ride height?

I just e-mailed True Line Trains (Hobbycraft Canada) and inquired about the door.... we'll see if they respond.... could be interesting....If it's indeed wrong then is it a 'recall issue" or a "oops, we'll get it right the next time" thing ?
