Is the offending door track cast as part of the shell, or is it separately applied?  It might be an assembly problem at the plant...  Tell those Chinese that we'll start with holding those container loads of $100 bills if they don't straighten up and fly right!

And would the ladder over the multi mark be green?  Or painted into the logo?

Lee

The ladders (on the prototype) are painted white and black over the multimark.

Maybe this was their inspiration... they just put the lettering on the wrong side:

Well, these are the same people that did not do the RS18 in the action red scheme...

I'm not sure it's an error - if you look at the picture I posted it matches the car - I think, and stand to be corrected, that there were changes and iterations of the locations of markings throughout the car's life.

Pudd - no, look at the three panels under the CP Rail logo. Totally screwed up. The car number should be aligned with the left side of the "CP Rail" and not over to the right. The other side of the car is fine.

It's pretty obvious what happened here - they did the artwork for the other side, and screwed up when trying to mirror it to this side. Just like Rapido's infamous "Central Illinois" baggage cars. (Of course Rapido recalled them all right away and gave you a free car with the correct lettering.)

With all their issues, if it's more than those blue box lifelike cars, I'm going to be passing.

Yes the car rides too high, but that's easily remedied.

The door track being one panel too far left is a mistake, but that is correctable by the modeler.

The left-side ladder is just a matter of some paint and ten minutes time.

Overall, the tooling appears to be pretty good.  Nice to see another model in the mix.

Looks like the ride height in HO isn't that much better:

Could it be that the door tracks are correct for a CN version?

Are there not many variations of the CP paint - they are doing a CPI marked car...

I really am hoping these are decent models given the cost...
