Just got this done...

I've added a fence in one of the pastures and stuck in some tuft's of dry grass, made from Sycamore tree seed clumps.

The seed clump...

The stuff from inside it on the layout.

The whole scene...

Those stuffed tufts look crazy great .

Indeed they do look good.  But I wonder how long they will last.  Usually seed material like this degrades fairly quickly.  But if it holds up then we've got a very fine textured material for dry grass.

I've used them on previous layouts and they have held up just fine. My layouts don't take much of a beating though, I'm not sure how they would last on an n-trak layout and such...

I just slapped on some full strength white glue to the plaster banks and then pressed some dirt from my yard onto it. When it dried I painted the dirt my "earth color". The cracking texture came from me painting it a bit to thick.

The cracks were purely an accident, can't guarantee it'll happen every time.

Remember most parking officers (aka "Brownies) are not cops! Dont confuse us! I love watching the PPA on Parking Wars, they are pretty funny.

Went to a train show this weekend and worked a booth showing off the speeders. Also picked up a bunch of IM, FV and Atlas cars at the show.
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Ok, first off, just because it SAYS Roast Pork, doesn't mean that they don't make the best steak in the city (where's Gonzo to second that). Now, their pork IS amazing, but the cheesesteaks are tops. Pats was a good call. Sorry I couldn't direct you to John's, it was a busy day.

I shall have to remember to slap you upside the head at some point next Saturday for mentioning John's to an outsider. But even so, John's has the best cheesesteaks in the known universe. I am not a connoisseur of roast porks, but I think it's safe to say their porks are also second to none. I set a new personal best down there back on good Friday: 2 steaks with onions and sharp along with a small roast pork. Next time I'll be looking to do the 2 steaks and a large pork. If you're in Philly on a weekday before 2:30 and you haven't eaten there, you missed out on the best eats in town.

Pat's > Geno's. Look it up, it's in every math textbook. Both are actually pretty low on the cheesesteak hierarchy, though. I haven't been to Pat's in years. One of my favorite things to do back in the day was order 1, take it to the back of the line and start eating. By the time I was finished, it was my turn to order again. WHIZ WIT!

Tony Luke's on Oregon Ave is a good place, as is Steaks On South. Thanks to Steaks on South, I can easily assemble my favorite creation, I call it the Philly Roll:

Sean, that picture makes me queasy just looking at it.  I'm sure I would blow chunks if I actually witnessed you rooting that out of the trough with your snout.

On Tuesday, I had lunch in Lexington Market in B'more, and enjoyed a pair of Polock Johnny's with the works.  I gotta tell ya, I enjoyed my Philly Steak, and I recognized that Pat's was probably not the best available, but you guys are going to have to really come up with something special to top the flavor explosion, the shear delicacy of the Genuine Polock Johnny.

If I can scrape together the money, and have the time to swing through Caton Avenue on the way to Marysville, I'll pick up a 20 pack and a quart of the works.  My friend, you will never look at your beloved cheese steaks the same way again.  Maybe I'll have Kapuscinski get them during his copious free time... but it's important to get them fresh.  Freezing them doesn't harm the flavor, but the texture might be less than the full experience.

And as evidence of true gastronomic impact, in years past there would be a polish sausage eating contest on the sidewalk in front of the Original Polock Johnny's on the Block...  Without fail, the winner would be dead within 18 months.  Now THAT's eating!
