On August 31, 1957, I stopped off in Pittsburgh, PA, to photograph some of Pittsburgh Railway's still extensive trolley system at that time. Here are three.
PRC PCC 1463 turns a corner downtown. The car is lettered as an advertisement for U.S. Savings Bonds.
The ultimate interurban? Note the spoked pilot, roof headlight, sealed windows and air conditioning duct on PCC 1716 at Castle Shannon station on the Drake Road run.
Behind the barn at Mt. Washington Tunnel were some work cars. F8 is a rare double ended Pittsburgh car. Is the "F" for flanger? Possibly...
Next week, more Pittsburgh Railways

Apache canyon NM. Westbound Southwest chief.
I know I posted this one before, but the Picasa resolution is so much better than Railimages I thought I'd post it again.

Went to St Denis before going to Timonium on Saturday. First up is some older power:
Trash train:
Went back after Timonium and caught this emply hopper heading to the Old Main line. Train was a mish-mash of hoppers including some PEPCO cars. Strange thing was that there was hardly any tags on these cars:
Finally caught the juice train before heading home:

For a change I've seen plenty of trains this week - Jasper is a railfan paradise. The only fly in the ointment being the leased to CN, SD40-2F being impossible to photograph, and the intermodal blocking my shot of the CN widecab SD40-2. Never-the-less here's what I've got:
Today saw a load of Rocky Mountaineer stuff in the yard at Kamloops but couldn't photograph them from where I was, andon leaving the hotel, 2 CP AC4400CW chugged passed about a block away. Will try to snap them tomorrow before I head to Vancouver.
