Who'da Thunkit?

That there would still be a locomotive kicking around with the B&M showing through, 26 years after the slaughtering began.
The logo is there on the nose, and Boston & Maine is spelled out on the long hood, clearly distinguishable. One can only hope how many years will go by before HATX sells or repaints it.

The front step white stripe and blue is so clean . A very unrealistic looking weathering by the Big Mother . Looks like it ran into a humongous BBQ pit of unburnt and ground up briquet's , or a coal tender , but that would have left a more even coat . Selective oil smoke weathering ?

There's a unit like that that's been bumping around Binghamton NY lately. I grabbed this shot a year ago or so, but I saw the thing in the CP yards just a couple of weeks ago. This one can add ex-HLCX to its geneology.

Reminds me of a GP-9 that used to kick around Hollidaysburg or Altoona... CR stencils over fading black PC paint, with Keystones clearly visible on the short hood....
