Well, get out of the city

I was sitting in traffic on 32 on Thursday and saw about 10 feet of tracks right on the shoulder.  So if the WB&A was abandoned in the 30's, did some trackage last many years after to serve Ft. Meade?

Be darned if I see any tracks. How far is this from either the old PRR or old B&O? Might have been an old industrial spur.

Gregg, the tracks are right in the center of the image and appear to be a spur off the WB&A line (the power poles running left to right).

Yes, thats the B&O branch that used to be there .. it ran from Fort Meade Junction, to the base, then connected to the PRR on the other side in Odenton ..

Here is the old B&O freight house @ Ft Meade

If you look here,  you can still see the tracks ..

Remember, Ft Meade used to be an Armor base .. Patton and Ike trained here ..

Wait, that can't be the B&O, right?  Unless the B&O took over the tracks after the WB&A?  And I thought that old station is a WB&A station??

Isn't that part of the branch that ends up at Savage Mill with the only surviving Bollman Bridge?
