Mod-U-Trak had a show this weekend, so the whole gang got together to run trains and have fun. However... an unforeseen tornado ripped through one of our curve modules leveling part of the forest...

Before:

After:

Still waiting for the clean up crew to clear the tracks and assess damage.... :)

The module fell over on its face when we were packing up. Live and learn. Looks like I'll be making a lot more trees.  :o

Ahhh the endless struggle between prototype fidelity and fine scale modeling vs. practical reality...

Whoa, you guys don't have coffins for those things? I should've learned when the same thing happened to me the DAY after I finished scenicing a module.

But you know what? I still haven't done it for all my stuff...

Zero trains for me this weekend. My weekend was centered on another hobby.

I did see some unidentified tracks in Oregon though.

From the following map it seems some of the tracks were Willamette & Pacific, some UP (SP?), some Portland & Western.

We got some new sections at the club test fitted together prior to final installation, and wouldn't you know they all fit together just perfectly.

Most of the foreground scenery on the piece is my work (it's still partially finished, but the back where it will be unable to be reached after final installation needed to be completed before this was moved into place. The backdrop painting and track laying were done by a couple of other members.

And here's another shot of new scenery on the club layout. Another member painted the backdrop, and did most of the work on the rock face at right, and I did the background hills in front of the backdrop and set up the photo.

I am finishing up my SBD GP38-2 project. I still need to attach the hood bell and blnk out the cab headlight. With the help of the CRHS I was able to locate several proto photos of SW1500s. The article should be on its way in a few days.

I finished up my Quincy Bay Terminal Co. SW9:

Dan is it just the lighting? That orange does not look pink enough for QBT 20

Here she is when we had her at NEGS

I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Finished up with the B&O RDC Decals and was able to decal these two RDC's last week. Also started 9918 which was an ex-Santa Flush unit and varied greatly from the paintjob you see below.

I'd say these are done but NO! I need to add window shades, DCC, paint the lowers silver (gotta find paint that matches...), add cut levers and 905's.

I was also able to rocket off via snail mail a previous set of decals to Roger Perkins. Received Western Maryland 55T Rebuild decals from Lee Weldon (highly recommeded, Thanks Lee!). Picked up an 0-8-0. Bought a lot of parts from Kato and Atlas. And finally began the process of getting my Berk drivers removed to send to another forum member for traction tire treatment (summarily sent a crankpin to the great carpet monster too...*sigh*).
