But that backwoods route doesn't have any branch lines south long enough to make it useful!  Sure, if you're shipping beaver pelts or Christmas trees...
 ;D ;D

they have the D&H to Sunbury...

How long will it be before they show us how to add DCC to a tree?

Then of course there's Canadian National which extends from Atlantic to Pacific Ocean and from the Northwest Territory to the Gulf of Mexico. Find me someone else with that sort of range!

Except they only go as far north as KC.. and you have to count the Gulf of Mexico as the Atlantic Ocean  :P

....no, no, no.... thay said "railway"........not "failed way".....( Oh man, the CPR guy takes an unfair and biased pot shot at the loathed CNR.....this should be fun..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D)
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Canadian National was owned by the Canadian government for over 70 years.

It was formed over 1918-23 through mergers of several bankrupt railways and other government controlled railways (Grand Trunk, Canadian Northern, Grand Trunk Pacific, Intercolonial, National Transcontinental, etc.) and controlled by the government until privatized in the early 1990s.

Thanks Chris - enough said....it's sometime impossible to overcome the influence of your "parents" and with a liniage that included 70 years of Canadian government ownership it's a wonder it's not called the "Disfunctional and Fiscally Wastrful RR.....LOL

I just love CN bashing - I'm hoping it's a demonstration sport at the Vancouver games in 2010........ ;D

Y'all better look out up there in the frozen North, aka Canada, or that good ol' Arkansas boy that was once the Trainmaster for the Frisco in Springfield, MO, and is now CEO of CN will have y'all for lunch. Some say the CN bought the IC to get Hunter Harrison...

Met him a couple of times at the Georgia Pacific-Chattahoochee Industrial RR Golf Outing in Dothan, AL, when he was still with the BN, and his grasp of the industry was impressive.

Ah yes...Dothan, AL.   Some of the best boiled peanuts I've ever had, in Dothan.
