Wow - 1 March already.

For me, no trains, but did spend the weekend hooking up a new TV, and planning out the area where I am going to build the refinery.

huge steps TOWARD the new layout...

- purchased and assembled a desk for my oldest son's bedroom - the family room computer can now go in his room
- purchased a new TV
- purchased a new TV entertainment center for said new TV - this allows the TV to be moved to a better location in the family room thus opening up the layout space
- moved one of three bookcases from the new TV location
- celebrated 10 years of marriage

hopefully i will get the new TV entertainment center assembled tonight or tomorrow.  i then have to run coax to the new TV location. not an easy task.

next weekend i'll be moving forward even more.

A lot of things going on for me train related lately. Mostly due to finlly having that dedicated workspace/table to work on. Unfortunately, my wife destroyed our camera last month while snow tubing with the kids, so no pics at the moment.

Still continuing on my coal loader kitbash, based on a facility in West Virginia. Built a model for the club, put decoders in 4 more locos and finished one and working on my second FEC SD40-2 in UP colors. At the club, I have been revamping the city scene.

Cool video, Craig!  Way to use that web based marketing stuff!

I took this shot about 8 years ago at the B&O museum back shops while interviewing one of the shop crew.

After I stripped the paint off of a Kato F unit, I was inspired to stage this shot...

I need to make some scale scaffolding...

Also staged the latest additions to the hopper fleet...

This was the best shot of the day, though...

Great shots, everybody.

For me this week, a lowly little different angled view of the Santa Fe Peavine
Line:

By the way, if you live in the San Francisco area, the local NMRA Region has a good calendar of model railroading events, brought to you by the Pacific Coast Region of NMRA:

Online Calendar
Model Railroading Activities in Pacific Coast Region geography

Free to anyone, of course, to view it, no membership required.  :-)

Have a good week, all.

I am finishing up my SBD GP38-2 project. I still need to attach the hood bell and blnk out the cab headlight. With the help of the CRHS I was able to locate several proto photos of SW1500s. The article should be on its way in a few days.

I finished up my Quincy Bay Terminal Co. SW9:

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

We (Denise & I) spent the weekend working on restoring an old NTrak module in hopes of having it put back into BANTRAK's active module lineup.  The module was found in a members garage and hadn't been seen for at least 10 years that I know of.

Also, on a whim, we toyed with creating a pictorial history video of Denise's testle table.  Here's what we have so far:

That's a great video, David.  Quite a showcase of the work that goes into some of this stuff.  Kudos to Denise for having the patience of a saint... although I did see an empty beer glass in some of those images, which must have helped!

Makes me think of this joke I got this week...

I had lunch with 2 of my unmarried friends.

One is engaged, one is a mistress, and of course I have been married for 20+ years..

We were chatting  about our relationships and decided to amaze our men by wearing a black leather bra, stiletto heels and a mask over our eyes.

We agreed to meet in a few days to exchange notes. Here's how it all  went.

My engaged friend: The other night my boyfriend came over and found me with a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask.

He saw me and said,  'You are the woman of my dreams. I love you.' Then we made love all night long.

The mistress: Me too! The other  night I met my lover at his office and I was wearing the leather bodice, heels and mask over my eyes and a raincoat. When I opened the raincoat he didn't say a word, but we had wild sex all night.

Then I had to share my story:

When my husband came home I was wearing the leather bodice, black stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes.

As soon as he  came in the door and saw me he said, "What's for dinner, Batman?"
