More Brooklyn. We wandered into a maintenance yard, "boneyard", off the Culver Line and found all sorts of interesting stuff. Imagine trying to do this since 9/11/2001!!

Five car El train of convertible cars at the Jay St. end of the Myrtle Ave. el, closest to Manhattan, in August 1960, less than a week before replacement.

Former BRT Convertible el car 1306 in the "boneyard". Note it is equipped with trolley poles. These cars at one time ran over the Brooklyn Bridge and in the streets of Jamaica using overhead wire.

Here is one of the old el convertibles being used as a work motor with trolley pole on the wire at the cable warehouse.

Next week, the last three from Brooklyn taken at the "boneyard"

Saw another hot metal car down the street today so I went to check it out. Where they are usually parked I found these instead:

6 cars total and I have no idea why they are here. They came from Bay City, MI.

Back to the hot metal car. This one is the first I've seen show up on a flatcar.

I just read they were supposed to be going to the Ohio Central for a Christmas train. Any one know more?

Hey Chris, what is the story with the hot metal car? Is it being repaired or sent to the furnace in the sky?
No farms, no food. Support your local farmer's market!

I stand with Israel.

Repaired, they come through here all the time and head out looking brand new. Usually they are at least in rolling condition.

I don't know anything about their current story, but I do know their history.
