Dave, I had to re-read your original post. I could have sworn you said "east end." And on the east end, the curved TOs are of no use. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I actually agree with Ed on the label thing... It'll be easier to shove an errant car into the RIP track from the left.

Here's my final take on the East end, and here's why...


It shows the North Junction PC staging as built, and relates that back to the yard.  The crossover from the A/D tracks should be closer to the A/D throat, which will probably have to be worked out on-site.  I like the idea of skewing the lift out panel, and will certainly take that under advisement, however, the shelf on the left is square, and is very likely to remain as such...  So again, that will come when I'm working out the actual structure of the piece.

I'm also going to build the east end to this plan, because it preserves the larger roundhouse. 

I like the revised west end as shown in David's final draft, although you can see where I added a crossover up at the top on the main line to allow for some more staging while preserving a through route at all times.

I understand this change for the RIP track. But usually MOW tracks are arranged such that they have easy, immediate access to the main. So having them both facing the same way, as it was a few versions back, works better, except that with that version you lose class track capacity (~24-32 cars). I think it should be fairly easy to get them both facing the main with the curved turnouts intact.

Here's my final take on the East end, and here's why...

Lee, you've got both mainline crossovers on the east end facing the same way. Is this deliberate?

The one in front of YD isn't on the main, it closes a run around for wayward power, perhaps an east bound ready track.

Well, I was going to modify the plan to reflect the final changes. But... the application threw a rod when I clicked on a piece of flex it didn't like for some reason, whereupon it deleted everything on the screen and corrupted the backup file at the same time. I've never seen anything like it. Proves the old adage that you get what you pay for, and that freeware has its risks.
