Hi all,
Been out in the wilds of AZ and JUST got back into Phoenix. I went out to the Canyon Diablo bridge and could NOT find the road with 3ft of snow on the ground. The area is well known for being extreamly rugged and even with a 4x4 and a nav system, no one felt warm and fuzzy (at 14 degrees) about trusting the nav for 6 miles into the desert on 3ft of snow. So no Canyon Diablo this trip!
I did get down to Cienega Creek Bridge, Tuscon and a couple of other area. Hope you enjoy.

The two are from the vehicle bridge that is east of the railroad bridge. The bridge is the westward #2 track

Eastward bound consist on #1 track. Vail is just out of frame on the right side. The track is a horseshoe and then curves to the left under the bridges.
I got only one westbound because this very train's third head engine went into emergency 8 miles to the east. The westbound #2 track was blocked for 3.5 hours until someone came out from Tucson to fix it. They placed the dead locomotive on the tail end and hauled a$$ in to Tucson. Westbound traffic resumed three hours later because this train broke a rail at the yard throat. Not a good day on this line.
