BANTRAK @ B&O Museum

Since nobody else bothered to post it, I thought I'd let everyone know that Baltimore Area Ntrak will be operating their modular layout at the B&O Railroad Museum's Festival of Trains from Saturday December 13th to Tuesday December 30th.  The display includes both the regular Ntrak layout and a OneTrak branchline.

If you're in the Baltimore Area, stop by and see it.

Tim Nixon

(Technically we're still doing set-up on Friday the 12th, but the layout will probably be operating at some point in the afternoon.

Boy is that module joint between the Bridge and Ken's module bad; need to get that fixed if it hasn't been already.

Based on the emails that have been flying, I'm pretty sure it's been fixed.

Here's one from the night run.

There's another one in the works and will be posted soon.

It can't be fixed without a major overhaul to the module. There's only an inch and a half of clamping surface on the bottom of the module so the clamp pulls the bottoms together and slightly spreads the top. Placing shims won't work as the clamp just fulcrums the bridge even worse than it is now. ( I tried that on Monday) A couple of screws towed up through the sides might work but there would be some PO'd members.

Lol, note the nose in the Amtrak P42s in those videos. You can tell that they were taken BEFORE Martin and I had a "Ricky Gates" moment (well kinda...).

Here's a learning point for all of you out there. When a P42 slams into the back of a 42 car freight train, believe it or not, the Bowser N5C fares much better than the locomotive... I think Kato designed in some "crumple zones" for crew safety.
