Here's a rare shot of a strange Canadian Pacific engine I took back in the early 80's.  Frankly, I didn't know they used this paint scheme...

So, when are you going to do this one in N scale, Pud?

Lee: carefull, now, sometime truth can be stranger than fiction: :)

And PC engines ran on CP - PC/CR used to run a train over the TH&B and CP into Toronto. (While the TH&B was still jointly owned in the 1970s). Apparently it wasn't necessarily a daily thing and CP was known to borrow the CR power for other jobs while it was supposedly laying over. :) We've got a set of PC and CR engines at the club that we often use for #955, the Toronto-Sudbury transfer train when we're short locomotives. (We're about as power short as the real CPR in the 1970s! Need to get more built, including a nice collection of banged up leasers for some extra colour. :) ) Apart from stealing CR's power, CP rented at various points in the 1970s F-units from C&O/B&O and B&M, GP7s from Algoma Central, big alcos from ICG (that apparently didn't work so well), ex-QNSL GP7s and 9s from Precision National, among others.

CP's famous for leasing all kinds of crap from the '60s to today. :)

I'd have to say this is most likely a mis-lettered PC loco, CP never rostered an GP38 by that number.  As far as PC
diesels running on CP ,they did run into Montreal throughout PC's history and into the Conrail era as well over former
NYC trackage.

I knew that...  It's a Conrail paint out of a Penn Central unit, and the back leg of the R got covered up or fell off or was taken off by some invading Canuck...  I just thought it would amuse our resident CP afficianado...

I shot it at the west end of Enola in 1980.  There are probably a lot of pictures of this unit, as it was part of the yard power there for several years.

There isn't anything that would surprise me with the Canadian Pacific............
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Yeah, and I also want that SD40 shot from Altoona Lee posted a few days ago. Permission to swipe them, Lee?

I hope it does, since that would mean we all got rich off of it first...
