Onetrak module progress

Realizing that Timonium was coming up, and that I wanted to have my latest project show-ready, I decided to get busy scenicing and finishing my latest onetrak module.

This one represents an interchange between Conrail and a random shortline, but the track is generic enough to serve many purposes.

I also realized I have a new favorite scenery product, Heki's Wildgras. It's a mat product, kinda like polyfiber, but in a much better texture. You open the package, tear it into shapes and stretch it out a bit. It's OBTRR approved, but damn, does it look good.

Anyway, some pics.

I finally realized I have something where TOFC stuff looks decent, so here's a CR TV train with a pair of 40-2s doing what they were built to do:

Looks good to me Ed.  (Don't take the lack of response personally - after yesterday we're all busy counting our money to see if we have anything left for trains.)  Let's see some more TOFC shots when you get a chance. 

I concur on the Heki grass.  Why are the European companies (Silflor, Heki, Noch, etc.) so far ahead of the American ones in coming up with new grass technology?  All we get is ground foam and horsehair from one company.  Grist for a future TTAMT blog.

Looks good.  I've got a bunch of that NOCH grass mat stuff, but it's a little too bilious for me...  I might try it in some limited locations and see if I like it.  I wonder if there's a way to tone down the neon green?

Yeah, I'm a little worried... my IRA went from $40 to $37.50...  Not per share... that's the total!  Now that I think of it, that was probably just my fund manager, Vinnie Bumbassa, taking out his weekly fee.  I better throw some more cash in there, cause when that runs out, there goes the knee caps!

You will need large amounts of Heki grass for a noTRAK module.

Where the **** do you get Heki products in the US? I have used them back in Europe, but haven't found a pusher in the US so far  :'(

I was using Heki a lot back in Europe. IMHO their stuff is much better than the usual Faller, Noch, Busch,....

Yeah, I'm really a huge fan.

I use their Wisengras (sp?) stretched out and painted a warm gray extensively in my winter efforts, and the wildgras really does a MUCH better job than silflor of covering a wide area.

Looks real good. Can you provide a track plan for the module?

Will your oNeTRAK  be set up in a layout at Timonium?

It will indeed be at Timonium. 

The plan is really simple, there's one through track, which 1.5" from the end goes into a #7 turnout, 6" of straight track and then another #7.

I'll snap a photo from above next time I have the camera out.
