Got my first Z scale loco today

even if it was the second one I bought.

Well at least I have a start on my new empire.;D

If anyone is interested it is a GP9 temporarily in Northern Pacific colours.I am hoping to score a GP35 cab and window set for it so I can chop the short hood.I haven't really decided which GVR colour scheme I will use but most likely it will be the blue and yellow one with white lettering.

Anybody got any simple trackplans for a 24"x48" space they would care to share?

My first Z layout was based on this 2x3 layout in MR:

but I made it into a 2x4 layout:

Not really simple, but not hard either.

I gotta remember to send those parts to make pilot/plow coupler mount to you this week. I have been working rushed to get MTL's next structure kit done. I have the parts cut, and am almost done with the instructions, then I can move on to all the trades, and other parts i promised to send to everyone. My list is about 8 people long now. :D

Robert,
Right after the mailman delivered the GP9,and one week after supposedly paying for my stuff from 4 N scale they called me to tell me they didn't have my C:C numbers on file.Well they do now and I may still get my GP35 . ;D

Hey I have an idea for you.How difficult would it be to do a numberboard/ headlite/windshield piece for the GP9 cab?Or maybe some 48" fan housings that could be used on either unit?

I imagine owning a laser is like owning a pickup truck.  A lot of people call you up for favors, but you're more than happy to help out ;D

Actually I like helping anyone with laser cut stuff. My only problem is that I have a regular day job that I work 6 days a week at. Then I spend all my free time designing kits and writing instructions for them, leaving me limited time for all the trades and projects I want to do.

I keep a list of trades and projects for people on my computer, and am constantly whittling away at it.
