Another piece from the vault.  Not sure of the photographer or location, but this came into my collection a number of years ago.  WM Steam Crane.

I took this shot on Sunday from the old silo (converted to an observation tower) at the Red Caboose Motel near Strasburg, PA:

My oldest son Jake and I at the RR Museum of PA:

Here's the whole family at Strasburg with Thomas:

Heaven must look a lot like this:

Trains and family...  Good stuff!  I take the boys on the Strasburg every year, just as my dad did with me.

Time to go back to Strasburg...  Wish I'd gotten a shot of the westbound Amtrak train we met - too fast for me!

According to their website, the 4-8-4 was built in 1946 by the ALCo for Nacionales de Mexico. See http://www.newhoperailroad.com/history-steamloco.cfm for more info.

I know I took these  in the early 70's near Seattle but don't remember exactly where.  Unfortunately the other photos I took here disappeared over the years.

That bottom shot reminds me of the picture from Tianenman Sqaure where the guy is facing down a tank...

Richie, click on my Picas URL under my sig, look in Prototype Photos, you'll find an NdeM Niagra (its name for 4-8-4's) in with the NdeM photos. The photos are in alphabetical order by RR.  It's coming out of an enginehouse built same year it was.
